Anne second term at Redmond flew by and she dedicated herself to her studies diligently, aiming to be awarded an English

scholarship for the following year to avoid eating into Marilla's savings.

A letter soon arrived from Anne and Priscilla's old Queen's Academy school friend, Stella Maynard.
