Good evening and welcome to the sleepy book shelf where we put down our worries from the day and pick up a good book.

Tonight we are continuing with Anne of the island. But first, let's take some time to just be present,

wherever you are right now.

Start by taking one deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Gently close your eyes and become aware of your body, your positioning how your body is feeling.

If you have any tension anywhere, mentally allow that to soften or adjust your body to help you support that if it helps

before coming to a stillness.

Next, take your awareness to your environment.

are around you?

How do these make you feel?

Now, bringing your focus to the sound of my voice, settle into the story as I recap our last episode.

Anne returned home to Green Gables to a warm welcome.

Diana picked her up from the station and agreed to spend the night with her so they could properly catch up.

Davy had prepared a bonfire for her return.

It was insistent that Anne put him to bed.

He told her he was struggling to say his prayers because all he desperately wanted to say was the bad word he had learned from Mr Harrison's hired boy.

Anne gave him permission to say it,

and he was so regretful he promised never to utter it again. A white Christmas arrived and Miss Lavender

wrote from Boston and asked Anne to visit Echo Lodge to air it out.
