Europeans really hate Donald Trump and for the best of reasons they cannot stand his ragging,

they cannot stand his open sort of racist appeals,

they find him culturally repellent, but you know at some level they also love Donald Trump.

They love that Donald Trump reinforces every European prejudice about America, that he is the ugliest of Americans, that he

encapsulates everything they've always wanted to look down upon in America.

And that's understandable, but I think there's a danger here because Europeans have not been

as forthright and as clear and standing up to challenges to democracy as they might have been either.

is still a member of the European People's Party, the grouping of center-right parties in the European Parliament,
