Summary

This week, real life adventurer Anna McNuff joins the RunPod Run Club. Anna is someone who has many a tale to tell - and they’re all fascinating! She started out as an elite rower and then once she decided to move on, she started setting herself new challenges in which running featured heavily. In the last year, she faced one of her biggest yet. She wanted to make sure it was something that felt impossible and so when running from the top of the British Isles to the bottom didn’t seem hard enough, she had to add some jeopardy.....she thought, ‘Why not do it barefoot?’ So that’s exactly what she did. We hear about Anna’s incredible journey right here. You won’t want this episode to stop and you certainly won’t notice the miles clocking up if you run while you listen! Enjoy

Now, whilst you're out and about today,

0:21.9

I have got a truly brilliant guess.

0:23.7

I'm going to be honest, I am absolutely fascinated by her.

0:27.3

Firstly, because, well, she's a great runner.

0:30.6

But more so, because of the fact that she recently opted

0:33.7

to run the length of Britain in bare feet. Anna McNuff, what were you thinking?

0:40.9

I am not sure what I was thinking. It seemed a great idea at the time, but I've never

0:45.8

regretted it, but it was slightly mad. Yeah, I mean, mad but brilliant. Lovely to have you on

0:50.4

RunPod. Thank you. Honestly, it's such a pleasure to be here. I just, I love running. I'm all up for chatting about

0:55.2

running. Did you run here today? I didn't because I came from Gloucester and I thought perhaps

0:59.4

a hundred miles, you know, before breakfast was probably a little bit too much. Maybe one day.

1:03.2

Although that might not show commitment to this podcast. No, so far, Nell McCandrew is the only person that's ever run to a run pod recording, and I've got to say no one else has yet.

1:13.5

I know, I listened, and I thought about it, and I thought, no, that's probably at least three days of time.

1:18.3

But Nell has set the bar.

1:19.8

Yeah, you're off the hook, don't worry.

1:21.5

I'm so happy you're here, actually, because, well, you've got so many amazing tales to tell, to be fair. There are so many, we will never fit them into this podcast.

1:30.6

I'm going to say that from the start.

1:31.8

So at the end of this, you will probably be desperate to go out and buy one of Anna's books
