Today, I am so excited to welcome Angelica Wando on the podcast.

Angie is the founder of the insanely popular Instagram account turned media empire, the

Shade Room, which reports on black culture, entertainment, celebrity news, and politics.

Angie initially started the Instagram account as a backup plan more on that later, and quickly

grew it to 100,000 followers in just a few weeks.

Now, the account has over 16 million followers or roommates as she calls them, and is one of

Instagram's fastest growing accounts.

Angie is a Forbes 30 under 30 onery in media, and is currently in development with major

Hollywood production companies on original content.

But, she actually started her career as an accountant of all things, and she's here

to tell us all about how she made the switch.

What did you study in school, and what did you think you were going to be when you grew

up?

Okay, so I remember I studied accounting in school.

It was the worst major ever, but I did it because I knew that the school, that particular

school accounting firms used to recruit heavily there.
