Hey everybody, welcome back to another episode of Industry Standard with me, Barry Katz. So great to be here.

I hope you had an amazing new year, and I know 2006 is going to be something special.

I also know that the way the world works, we're all going to get the shit kicked out of us sometime along the way.

And there's going to be a lot of issues that challenge us that we don't really know why or the circumstances of how they necessarily happen or why the

world takes us in those places or why people that we think are a certain type of person

seem to change and turn into different types of persons.

But at the end of the day, I know that the world has a plan, and I'm excited for that plan.

I'm excited for the journey. I'm excited for the journey.

I always have been.

And my favorite thing in the world has always been two words, the unknown.

And when I think of my guest today, who I got to sit down with in New York City, Andy Huggins,

I can't help but think of what I just said and how much it resonates for me.

It really, really does. Because Andy is a guy who's probably been living in the same apartment in Houston for four decades. A guy who's been through the ringer, alcohol, drugs, all different kinds of vices,

self-destructive behavior, been around with some of the greatest comedians of our generation

there, like Sam Kinnison.

And really has never gotten the respect that his comedy deserves

for many, many, many, many years.

For some, a lifetime.

And what's great about our world is that there's things that are really, really fascinating

about it in the entertaining business.

Like if you're just a person who is a writer,

and I don't mean to say just because I have so much respect for writers,
