Anatole Levin of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft joins me

to comment on events of these last days that are essentially looking to resolve something in

Europe, but it is not clear which way this is going.

Ostensibly, it's about Ukraine, but it might also be about the future of the relationship

between Washington and Brussels.

And I told a very good evening to you.

I mentioned that the president's speech at the UN has them still buzzing.

I'll begin with news this morning that may seem connected.

We have a new column from Friedrich Merritt's in the Financial Times, the Chancellor of Germany,

in which it makes it clear that Mr. Merz believes much more can be done financially for peace in Ukraine,

that is, more and more severe sanctions.

In addition, we have statements from Bloomberg reporting from Brussels that there's a meeting

that looks like an emergency meeting of some of the NATO states

in the east that would be from the Black Sea to the Baltic, concerned about the drone incidents

of these last days. Most recently and most alarmingly, a drone said to have originated from

unknown but everyone points east,

in order to tie up and discomfit Copenhagen Airport, which is a major hub.

Also, we're looking at Denmark feeling threatened, and they have heretofore been led by a prime minister who is not a hawk at all

whatsoever i mentioned all that excuse me is that in error oh yeah he's been very hawkish on russia

oh okay yes well thank you i did number i I follow your lead. Just to finish here, they're talking about something called a drone wall, no details given other than the fact that they're preparing for more of this harassment. I want to begin, however, with the remarks of the UN because that involves all the EU,
