Summary

Ana Gasteyer (SNL, American Auto) and Justin talk about how social media apps are changing comedy, her newest show American Auto, how she became part of (arguably) the best cast of Saturday Night Live, and how her iconic NPR ladies sketch “Schweddy Balls” almost didn’t make it to TV.

Like a fart. Well, but more specifically like more feminine, more female, like a front fart. Yeah, like a front butt fart. Okay. I know you're saying.

1:43.0

And so I kind of made a gesture because as I said, I was quite comfortable at this point. And and just instinctively I said, oh, Martha was that I pointed to her. And I was like, what was that?

1:53.0

And I kind of pointed down to where the sound came from, which was around her crotch.

2:00.0

Half of the audience laughed in a way that they got it. They understood what I was talking about. The other half was clueless. And it happened very naturally, but almost immediately after it's been said after it's out in the in the ether, you start having, you start wondering, you start doing the math, how bad was this? And what's the fallout?

2:19.0

What's the social social fallout of having said this out loud in the world in terms of fallout in terms of damage social damage?

2:26.0

There was none. She was, she really liked me. And she in fact invited me then a couple months later to her house for this Halloween thing. And I kind of got to know her a little bit. And really liked her.
