November 9th, 1996, the fight, boxing.

They called it finally, because everybody was waiting

for this big meeting between Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson.

The fight was won by Evander Holyfield,

but it was kind of a dubious win.

In fact, there were, you know, those that he headbutted his way through that match, and it wasn't a legitimate victory.

And so there was a rematch between the victorious Evander, the real deal, Holyfield, who was a believer, by the way, Christian guy, but fighting against Mike Tyson.

And the second fight, well, it became maybe one of the most infamous sporting events

in history. And it wasn't because of the great fight. It was what happened in the fight.

Evander was holding, you know, the winning, I should say, the first two rounds.

Mike Tyson was getting frustrated. And so they kind of were, you know,

tangling up and fighting. And Mike Tyson reached around with his teeth and bit the ear of

Evander Holyfield. And, you know, blood and the whole thing. And so they kind of paused the

fight, got him in their corners. And, you know, they said, okay, you're losing two points for biting

his ear, don't do that again kind of thing. And then they resumed the fight, and a few seconds

later, he bites the other ear off. Like he literally bites his ear off. And Ptui, the ear flops on the

ground there on the boxing ring. And so they called the fight.

Evander wins by, you know, Mike Tyson being disqualified.

And it just, you know, was kind of, now, that's not the end of the, the, the, the

eerie story.

There's an air, sorry, the eerie part is they actually collected the little chunk of ear on the mat,
