Everybody, I am Paul Sheer joined as always by Amy Nicholson,

it's a show where we watch great movies and debate whether they are actually great,

or we just remember them that way. And of course, on this show, our goal is to build the ultimate

list of 100 movies that we will blast off into space so that aliens can understand us and the

beauty that humanity gave to culture around the globe and the international solar system

and beyond. And I think that it's wonderful that we're doing a movie today where the lead actor

thought, I'm going to play this character like a space alien trying to understand humanity.

It's a goal of our show, with a little bit more blood.

And you are being 100% correct about that. That was the way that Christian Bale approached the

role of Patrick Beatman. It is truly become this iconic performance that's so bizarre, so unique,

and it almost didn't happen. We're going to get into how Christian Bale got this opportunity,

and all the hurdles that he and Mary Heron had to jump, all the directors that were in the way

of making this movie that even to this day, the author of the book, American Psycho,

thinks didn't need to be made.
