Oh, my gosh. I am Paul Sheer. That voice right there is my partner, Amy Nicholson, a frequent

writer for The New York Times. We love talking about movies and we've done these episodes in

the past where we dissect an entire franchise.

To look at a franchise instead of just a great film to determine is that franchise worthy of being

sent into space and we've talked about Star Trek in the past.

We've also talked about Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, but today we're going to focus on

mission impossible, a franchise that has been around for a very long time.

Very, very, very, very long time and yet it gets older and its lead just keeps jumping off

cliffs. How exciting. And you know, this is not a conversation that I feel like a two-person

squad can handle. No way. I feel like we need a four-person squad.

And I feel like we need a team. We need a team of specialists.

Now usually I like to sit here and be like, I am the top crew specialist, but you know what?

There's somebody, there's two bodies who I think are even better at getting under the

wires of this specific franchise. You going to introduce your team members or am I?
