I am your host, comedian and culture critic Jolenta Greenberg.

And here on Hot Masterpiece Theater, we talk about the stories told on reality TV,

because we believe that all stories are created equal.

At their core, they all have the same themes, plots, and kinds of characters that show up in any great story,

from Angels in America to King Lear.

And reality TV just has a different aesthetic, that's all.

It's the same story's different look.

It's only trashy if you can't see past the spray tans and lip filler

to like the actual stories being told.

So let's not judge a book by its cover and talk about some great reality TV. As you know,

we do scene studies, so to speak, with a guest every other week. And today we have a really,

really wonderful person joining us to talk about the second season of the Netflix show, America

Sweethearts, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. So let's get
