| 1:14.0 | A-L-T-A-R. This is an Alter. If you know anything about church history, |
| 1:23.0 | you know, all the way back into the Old Testament, an Alter was a place |
| 1:28.0 | where people would lay something down before God. It's a place where we |
| 1:33.0 | would make a sacrifice to God. And Ego is who we think we are. |
| 1:40.0 | It's what we think about ourselves. And unfortunately, so many of us, |
| 1:45.0 | we have an inaccurate view of ourselves. We think too highly of ourselves, |
| 1:49.0 | or we think too lowly of ourselves. And we don't really know who we're supposed |
| 1:54.0 | to be. So in this message series, what we're going to try to do is sacrifice |
| 2:00.0 | who we think we are so we can become who God says we are. |
| 2:07.0 | We're going to lay down different characteristics of our Ego on the alter of |
| 2:12.0 | God so we can become who God says we are. And I want to show you where we're |
| 2:17.0 | going in this series where we've been and where we're going if you're taking |
| 2:22.0 | notes. Last week by faith, we decided to lay down our feelings of inadequacy. |
