Hello my friends welcome back to Unshaken I'm Jared Halverson and I've got great news for you.

I've been working back and forth with Deseret Book on a project that we did together several years ago.

They had they were beginning of a program of kind of master classes, and they asked me to do one on

scripture study. Basically, how do we study scripture? I've learned over the years that we have this high

expectation that we clarify constantly that we need to be studying our scriptures.

But I've also learned the hard way that when there's a gap between expectation and education,

that gap fills with frustration.

I've been in that gap myself at times and I've noticed

over the years working with students and with other members of the church that they

know they should be studying their scriptures but if they don't know how to do it

in a way where they're getting all that they can out of the word of God,

then it's just frustrating to them.

And it's like, why do I keep beating my head against this scriptural wall

when I'm not getting anything out of it?

And so with the help of Deseret Book doing some the filming

and all those kinds of things we created this master class and the original plan

was to allow that class to be a free sample so to speak for the the master classes that Deseret

book was putting together. I'm a big believer in wanting to make things as

freely accessible as we possibly can.

And so my hope was that nobody would have to pay for a thing

and they'd be able to learn how to study scripture.

Well, there were some challenges with the platform
