0:00.0	Hello there. My name is Tyler Griffin. And I'm Kinley Griffin. And this is Scripture Study Insights by Scripture Central. Today, Alma 17 through 22. And I am so excited to welcome another one of my beautiful daughters, Kinley, to join me for these incredible chapters that we're going to discuss
0:22.1	today. And this is a privilege to be able to share this time with Kinley as we go through
0:30.9	these stories. And before we dive in and before I say anything that's on my mind, I just wanted to ask for
0:41.0	Kinley's opinion, Kinley's thoughts on what did you gain from reading chapter 17 through
0:48.2	22 in preparation for coming and filming with your dad? What stuck out for you in these chapters? You know,
0:55.4	of course there are so, so many things that these chapters have in them. I think one big
1:02.0	theme that I kept noticing, I guess the best way to share this would be President Nelson's
1:09.2	words. He and his talk overcome the world
1:12.4	and find rest. He talked about how important it is to learn to love God more than anything else
1:20.1	as part of being in a covenant relationship with him, being willing to give up anything, being
1:25.2	willing to do whatever he asks. And I feel like in these
1:29.5	chapters I kept noticing again and again, it's story after story of people coming to know the
1:37.0	Savior and being willing to give up everything they have to follow him and to become like him
1:44.1	and to live his gospel.
1:46.0	That's beautiful. And that ties in very closely with one of the lifelong learning
1:52.0	overlays that I wanted to share, which is this notion of a sacrifice. So we'll use an altar here as the symbol, the object lesson, the question
2:06.5	being, what am I willing to sacrifice or lay down on the altar as a sign of, as an expression
2:16.1	of my love for the Lord, because he already laid down on the
2:22.7	altar an infinite sacrifice for us. He gave everything for us. And now as we go through
2:31.5	these stories, we see multiple people willing to give up all kinds
2:37.7	of things to better come to know the Lord and to serve him more completely and to, as you
2:45.6	said, build that connection, that relationship with him.
