0:00.0	Let's begin with a quick overview with reference to the scripture itself. You get chapter
0:05.6	13, which is this incredible chapter thrown into the middle of the story of Ammoniah about
0:13.2	the priesthood. Then you get the chapter 14, where you get the awful slaughter of the women
0:20.7	and children, the burning of the scriptures,
0:22.8	and then Alma and Amulek are thrown into prison, and they're abused and beaten, and these people
0:29.7	are going to kill them, ultimately, if they hadn't been delivered by God. And then you get the story
0:35.8	of healing Zezeram and teaching and baptizing many, many converts
0:41.2	inside them. And then you get chapter 16, where the entire city of Ammoniah is destroyed
0:48.3	in one day. One day, it's wiped out, which is exactly what Elma and Emelik prophesied to these people,
0:55.6	and they said, oh, this great city could never be destroyed in one day. There's your quick
1:00.3	overview. It's kind of disjointed in the idea that here you get this chapter about
1:08.0	priesthood that's come in to the middle of the story, and it almost
1:13.8	feels a bit out of place unless you look at how they're talking about priesthood. It's Alma here
1:21.0	in chapter 13, talking about priesthood. And he's referring to it as the order of the Son of God. This is what the essence
1:34.2	of the priesthood is. It's God's order. It's how God does things. It's the power of God to do
1:42.3	his work. Now, I have to share this other analogy with you for a minute.
1:49.3	We'll get to 14, and I'll show you the comparison between the two in a minute. Elder Dale
1:53.8	G. Renland wrote a great book about the Melchizedic priesthood, and in there he uses the example of the earth. Here's the
