0:02.0	Today, Alma 17 to 22.
0:05.0	So let's begin with a story today.
0:07.0	Now, we're getting into a bunch of missionary chapters, and we're going to be spending time
0:11.0	with some missionaries who, early in their lives, you would have never imagined that the stories
0:17.0	we're about to read would have ever happened.
0:19.0	And so there's a principle here that your past does not predict or determine your future.
0:26.6	So I grew up in the frozen wastelands of Minnesota.
0:30.6	Actually, it's a very beautiful place.
0:32.6	It's known as a land of 10,000 lakes.
0:35.6	And probably there's more lakes than that. It's interesting, as a kid,
0:38.7	I remember, we took a trip to a state park. And we went to this lake, and we actually, we visited
0:45.3	lots of places like this growing up as a family. The lake was not of any particular significance.
0:52.1	It was surrounded by trees. And there was a small outlet that created
0:57.6	a little stream, and the stream was probably, I don't know, not very wide, maybe about
1:03.4	as wide as I can stretch my hands.
1:05.9	And enough that you could actually walk across the stream, there was a pile of rocks.
1:11.8	And what was interesting about this is that this nondescript lake and this nondescript
1:17.3	stream actually is the headwaters of the third largest river basin in the entire world.
1:24.4	It's the headwaters of the river that drains 41% of the land in the lower 48. You
1:31.6	probably guess by now, it's the Mississippi River. It was Lake Itataska. Now, if somebody had told
