Hi everybody. We are so so excited to continue to do this work together. So welcome back. Welcome back to day three.

0:55.5

I love seeing so many faces who were here yesterday and the day before. Good for you. Good for you. I mean, especially when things seem to be landing,

1:04.8

it's amazing how many people will write into us and say, that blew my mind, but then I never made it back.

1:09.6

And when are you doing it again? And I'm like, oh, it's amazing how we can get so pulled into that familiar pattern that we're like,

1:16.4

well, that was enough feelings of excitement and possibility. Maybe I should just put the lid on that again, right?

1:21.6

1:30.8

Like with elephants that, and I'm sure you've heard this, but if you take an elephant and you want to put an elephant, let's say it is zoo or something like that,

1:39.6

then they tie a rope to the elephant's foot, right? And they sort of break them to the point where they stop tugging because they realize they can't really go.

1:50.4

And then what's really kind of gross is that eventually they just take the ropes off. And because the elephant has already tried to go as far as it can go.

2:02.4

It learns this learned helplessness is what it's called. So it's like this forced function of.

2:09.4

There's no way out so then they don't even need ropes or borders because the elephant no longer believes in that possibility.

2:21.2

And I think that we can become that way, right? And there was another study they did with fleas in a jar.

2:30.4

And they put these fleas in the jar and the fleas would jump out of the jar. Like they kind of just knew intuitively that there was more here and they would jump out and jump out.

2:39.4

So they put a lid on the jar and the fleas couldn't jump out took the lid off the jar. Same thing happened that happened with the elephants. The fleas stopped jumping even when they took the lid off because they had now learned that there was a certain ceiling of how far they could jump.
