Summary

All-Star Weekend felt especially Lakers-centric as several franchise icons participated in the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team celebration and LeBron James' game winning fadeaway led his team to another victory in Sunday's game, all while his future in Los Angeles was speculated on after he openly spoke about what lies ahead for him after his current contract expires. Pete, Mike, and Darius discuss the weekend's events, offering their takeaways on LeBron's comments, what stood out to them about the game, and why how that game played out could be an analogy for what the Lakers were trying to do with this season's team. Then later, the guys discuss their favorite parts of the 75th Anniversary Team celebration.

What were your takeaways from this All-Star weekend?

0:51.0

Yeah, LeBron certainly was the only guy on this current team that was there, right? Because AD, because of all the injuries and stuff, and he didn't even get the injury replacement. So he was there. And then, of course, all of the Laker grades. I know that hopefully you guys saw that picture, right, which was pretty awesome. So that's a whole other thing, the whole 75. and I think we'll get to some of that later. But LeBron's presence there, of course, loomed large, other than when Jordan came out at the end. And like that weekend, a lot of it was going to be about LeBron James. And the game itself, I don't think we need to spend a ton of time on, but I want to hit on one thing.

1:28.5

1:46.0

He was, it was a little bit like a regular season game from this year for LeBron.

1:50.3

The numbers look about the same, like 24 points, eight assists, three turnovers.

1:54.2

He has three steals.

1:55.9

And it's just a, you know, it's not quite like Janus meanwhile is 15 for 21, right?
