It's hard to imagine, but according to the latest estimates from the Center for Disease Control,

as many as 650,000 people worldwide may die from influenza this year.

It is evil as the flu is, it's surprisingly easy to conquer.

Many evil diseases are spread by not washing hands with soap and clean running water.

Health officials recommend cleaning hands in a very specific way to avoid getting sick

and spreading germs to others. By frequently washing our hands with soap and water,

for at least 20 seconds, we could reduce the number of people who get sick with the flu and other

stomach and respiratory illnesses by 30%. Well, in a similar way, by frequently and intentionally

changing our own behavior in a simple and specific way, we can face our fears of evil and conquer

them too. So the theme of this meditation from Romans chapter 12 is about overcoming and conquering

our fear of evil. So as we begin, I want you to know your safe here, there's nothing to fear.

Begin to feel this serenity by breathing slowly. Take three deep belly breaths as your eyes drift

from open to soft focus to closed. Just rest in this place of purity.

This time of freshness and this moment of goodness in the presence of God, spirit and sun.

Prepare by listening and praying from this passage from Luke chapter 6 and respond softly,

Heavenly Father, help me conquer evil with good. But I say to you who hear, love your enemies

who good to those who hate you and then Heavenly Father, help me conquer evil with good.
