Summary

Meet Abie, your fellow meditator who has been following along with the meditations for more than 7 years. The theme he selected for you this week is Be Less Critical. You're guided in meditations to help you focus on the positive aspects of yourself and others. In each day's episode, you're guided, as always, with insight into the week's theme followed by a guided meditation.

This is part 2 of a 7-Part Series Be Less Critical Meditations, Episodes 2924-2930.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:

Select someone to compliment each day. For extra bonus points, graciously accept when others compliment you.

A DIFFERENT MEDITATION TECHNIQUE EVERY DAY FOCUSED ON A WEEKLY THEME:

You are guided with a different meditation technique every day that is customized for the week's theme. Weave the techniques into the most stressful times of your day to manage difficult emotions. The meditation techniques help to calm the "monkey mind," when your thoughts continuously interrupt your meditation.

How are you doing? I hope you are enjoying this week's series. We just launched the series

0:07.5

with an interview from a fellow meditator, AB Wiler, who lives in Israel, and you can

0:16.2

listen to the interview with AB in yesterday's episode. Today, I welcome you to the Daily Meditation

0:25.9

podcast, and I'm Mary Meckley, and this is episode 2,932. You're going to be guided in a meditation

0:37.6

using an affirmation that AB wanted to share with you. So our theme he selected for the week is

0:47.2

to be less critical. So the affirmation is, I'm doing the best I can, and your best is enough.

0:59.2

I'm going to share a little insight with you and then guide you in this affirmation meditation.

1:06.0

If you listen to AB's interview, you may recall when he talks about how his partner is from South

1:16.2

America, and he shares how he feels she has this innate sense of compassion. She's very heart-centered.

1:26.4

He shared how he feels this has a lot to do with her culture, and he talks about how he is more

1:36.2

mental. He's more in his head, and he said that he feels that has to do with his culture. He's from

1:44.1

Israel, and I thought this was so interesting because this is something I've noticed, and you

1:50.6

likely have noticed this too when you travel. When you go certain places, you can feel places that

1:58.6

are much more heart-centered, and I've spent time in Latin America, and I can understand what he's

2:05.1

referring to, where it is very heart-centered. And then I spent five years living in Japan,

2:16.1

and it was more mental. Of course, you find many heart-centered people, but generally speaking,

2:24.2

people didn't express or share their emotions so much. To give you an example, I remember one time

2:32.1

I took a wrong bus ride. When I was in Mexico, I was going to see some pyramids, and I was completely

2:42.6

on the wrong bus, and the unfortunate part is that a bus was not available to take me back

2:49.6

to the city I was traveling from. But there was this Good Samaritan on the bus, who helped me

2:59.6

get back. He actually helped me to find a ride back to the city that I was from. He's the one who

3:08.9

actually told me that I was on the wrong bus, and he got off the bus with me. He made sure that I
