Hello and welcome to the Truth Seekers podcast.

Today is the 21st Day of Advent.

We are almost to the end of our Advent series and that much closer to Christmas Day.

Are you excited? I am so excited. After the wise men had visited Jesus

and brought them their gifts, they were warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, so they

returned to their country by another route. When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared

to Joseph in a dream. Get up, he said, take the child and his mother

and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child

to kill him. So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night, and left for Egypt,

where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet,

out of Egypt I called my son.

Because Herod was afraid of another king trying to take his throne,

the life of Jesus was in danger.

So little Jesus spent the first few years of his life in the hot Egyptian son.

Finally, after King Herod had died, an angel appeared to Joseph, telling him that they could

at last leave Egypt in safety and return to Israel.

The family returned to Mary and Joseph's town of Nazareth, where Jesus grew to be a strong young boy.

He loved to learn from his teachers in the temple, and he would listen carefully and ask questions.
