0:10.0	Today is our 18th day of observing Advent as we count the days to Christmas.
0:17.0	It took many days for the wise men to journey to Jesus.
0:21.6	During that time Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem to be presented to God.
0:27.6	The law of Moses stated that if the child born was the mother's first born son, that he was to be dedicated to the Lord at the temple.
0:36.6	At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was to be dedicated to the Lord at the temple. At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon.
0:40.7	He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue
0:45.4	Israel.
0:47.5	The Holy Spirit was upon Him and revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen
0:53.3	the Lord's Messiah.
0:55.5	That day the Spirit led him to the temple.
0:58.9	So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required,
1:04.8	Simeon was there.
1:06.5	He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in
1:12.7	peace, as you have promised. I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people.
1:19.1	He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people, Israel.
1:25.4	A woman prophet named Anna was also in the temple.
1:29.3	Anna lived there day and night, fasting and praying and waiting for the Messiah to come.
1:34.3	She came along just as Simeon was talking with Mary and Joseph, and she began praising God.
1:41.3	She talked about the child to everyone who had been waiting expectantly for God to rescue Jerusalem.
1:48.0	Both Anna and Simeon had been waiting a long time to see the promised Messiah.
