Hello and welcome back to the Truth Seekers podcast.

Today is day 14 of our Advent series as we quiet our hearts to meditate and think about the coming of Jesus.

The night the shepherds were

in the field watching their sheep, an angel of the Lord appeared to them. And it says the glory

of the Lord shone around them. When the angel was done speaking to the shepherds, suddenly a great

company of heavenly host appeared with the angel angel praising God and saying, glory to God

in the highest, and on earth, peace to those on whom his favor rests. Can you imagine how amazing

that moment was? I can just picture a host of beautiful, majestic angels in the sky surrounded by

the glory of God, singing praises to Him.

The Bible says that the glory of God shone around the angels and the shepherds.

It also says the angels saying, glory to God.

Can you say glory?

What does the word glory mean? Glory can be hard to explain because it's not a thing.

It's not like a tree or a scarf or a house that you can easily describe or see in your mind when I say those words.

Glory isn't really a thing as much as it is a description of who God is. The glory of God brings to mind

his beauty, his goodness, his holiness, his perfection, and his magnificence. God's glory is

everything that is special and wonderful about Him. Everything about God and everything he does is glorious.

The prophet Isaiah tries to give us a picture of the glory of God when he says,

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand? Just to get a picture of the glory of God,

go to your sink, turn it on, and see how much water you can cup in the palm

of your hand before it starts spilling out. Then consider that your God can hold all of the liquid
