0:21.1	Today is day 2 in our Advent series and this story is called,
0:26.9	Prepare the Way for Jesus.
0:30.3	This comes from Luke chapter 1 verses 16 through 17.
0:37.8	He will help many people of Israel return to the Lord their God.
0:43.6	He himself will go first before the Lord.
0:47.6	John will be powerful in spirit like Elijah.
0:52.9	He will make peace between fathers and their children.
0:57.4	He will bring those who are not obeying God back to the right way of thinking.
1:05.2	He will make people ready for the coming of the Lord.
1:12.6	John the Baptist was one of the most incredible figures in the entire Bible.
1:21.2	Much of his early life was spent unknown in the desert.
1:26.8	And when he started preaching the good news of the Lord,
1:30.6	it ended almost 400 years of prophetic silence from God.
1:38.5	Can you imagine 400 years and no new words from the Lord?
1:46.8	Well, that's where God's people found themselves before John the Baptist.
1:54.6	The Bible says that John was the voice and the wilderness preparing the way for Jesus.
2:03.2	What John did for the people of Israel, Advent, can do for you and me.
