So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself.

So it's an odd turn of phrase, but St. Paul apparently spoke with his hands.

Despite not being the Italian in the room.

Politically incorrect.

Yeah.

And he answers, I think myself happy, King Agrippa,

because today I shall answer for myself before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews,

especially because you are expert in all customs and questions

which have to do with the Jews.

Therefore, I beg you to hear me patiently.

Well, we've talked before.

We've talked before about, in some of these defenses, where St. Paul is using good rhetoric.

The Greeks and the Romans were very big on rhetoric. And, you know, again, I made a joke

about it earlier, but they didn't have television, radio, internet. Most people were not literate

and couldn't afford books.

So hearing public orations on topics and debates and these sort of things,

it wasn't just sermons at the synagogue. This was part of everyone's daily life, right?
