To get us caught up to where we left off, we saw St. Paul return after his third missionary journey to go to Jerusalem for the feast of Pentecost.

He was warned several times on the way that when he did, he would end up being arrested,

that he would end up going on trial, that he'd be seized, that he wouldn't be welcomed. And despite

this series of warnings, St. Paul pressed on anyway. He actually let us know in a couple of places

in responding to the people who are warning him that he's not seeing this as

something to shrink away from. He's seeing this as sort of part of his plan because we saw how

he has as a goal getting to Rome in general and preaching there. And in specific, once he's

there, trying to get in front of Caesar, so he can preach to Caesar, to the Roman Emperor, and try to bring him to Christ.

Which emperor would this be at this point, Claudius?
