So when we get started in just a minute, we'll be picking up where we left off in Acts 2, verse 42.

Right near the end of the first church.

Right near the end of the chapter there.

And as usual, I'll say that by the time people are hearing this on the internet,

the first two Bible studies on the book of Acts will be available.

And so you'll be able to go back and listen to the first one and hear my introduction to the book again.

If you need to, uh, just to kind of get us caught up to where we are.

Uh, last time we were, uh, we read about and we're talking about the, uh, day of Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit

and the first sermon here in the book of Acts the book of Acts there are a number of

sermons that we're going to see recorded not just of St. Peter but also of St. Paul and St. Stephen and others.

And as we go through, we'll talk a little more about them

because they have some things in common with each other,

and we also see sort of distinctive voices between the different speakers. And so there's,

there's a discussion surrounding that in terms of how much of these sermons goes back to the

actual historical person giving the sermon. It was common at this point in history for someone who's writing as a historian.

We talked about how St. Luke is very much writing in the style of sort of apic,

the style of Thucydides and of other Greek historians.
