Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible,

chapter by chapter, book by book. There are certainly some interesting characters in the Bible. On our program today, we are going to meet

one of them. In our verse by verse study in Acts chapter 8, we meet a man named Simon. Simon was a man

who deceived the people and made himself out to be someone great. By looking at his story, we

gained some valuable lessons on some

deceptive practices that we should avoid. With the full story, here now is Pastor John.

Book of Acts chapter 8, we left off seeing great joy in the city of Samaria.

As Philip went to Samaria and began teaching them of Christ Jesus,

the city responded to the message and man, it was cooking.

There was excitement and joy and enthusiasm.

Great joy, verse 8 says, there was in the city.

But there was a certain man called Simon,

which before time in that same city used sorcery and he bewitched the people of Samaria
