Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible, chapter by chapter, book by book.

Here on Searchlight, we are studying through the Book of Acts and are now in chapter 8. In our prior study,

we saw that the church was being greatly persecuted at this time and were fleeing Jerusalem. But as

they left, they were taking the gospel with them. This was God's plan all along, as the gospel

spread to Judea, Samaria, and throughout the world.

As we join our teaching today, we are looking at a man named Philip, who took the gospel

to Samaria, and his story is quite interesting.

With our teaching and this story, here now is Pastor John.

And now he's going to be used in evangelism in a very effective way,

down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ unto them.

Samaria.

Samaria was one of the chief areas that had been rebuilt by Herod, Herod the Great,

who died around 4 or 5 BC. And it was a capital city really for the Roman Empire in that region. Now previously, you might remember how the Samaritans and the Jews had no dealings with each other.
