Last week on Thomas in the Bible, the disciples scare a man and his wife to death for not giving all they have to the church, then they get arrested for curing the sick.

An angel sets them free, they preach, get arrested again, get flogged, and finally released for good as the Frizes figure the whole Jesus thing will eventually blow over.

The church grows, though, and the disciples add some mental managers, including Stephen, who does some miracleing of his own.

This gets him arrested, and for his defense, he recites the entire Old Testament.

As punishment for this, the Frizes get him stoned and he falls asleep.

I mean dies, with a yon count of two.

So I've been reading the new international version a lot for my book,

which is coming along. I caught up. I sometimes get a little behind on it, and then I catch right up

because that's how things tend to go. And now I'm all caught up for my goal. It's coming along

in case anyone's wondering. I'm very

excited about it. But I am realizing that the book is an incredible amount of work for what

could end up being very disappointing. So I, in terms of sales. So I, I, uh, maybe I was being optimistic, but, uh, I'm sticking with it. I don't care. I, if I spend an enormous amount of work on it and, you know, sell 50 copies, it's going to be very, very, very, very disappointing. But that's how it'll go. So, but I'm sticking to it, because who knows, maybe people like it and they'll buy it.

But we'll see. I got worried about that as I realized just how much work I'm putting into this thing.

But anyway, the NIV, I've been reading the NIV because it's just so much easier.

And the new international version is really cheating because as I'm reading, you know, King James for this podcast, it's so hard. I can't, I had no idea how much harder it is. And the NIV gives you like headings for everything. So it'll say like it'll just have a little, you know, like a little heading that doesn't exist.

I guess they put those in to help clarify or help divide it up.

And then there'll be like the heading will be like Saul does such and such or whatever.

And it just gives you a better picture of when the Bible's onto a new topic or what the main thesis is and it just makes it easier to focus.

And then, of course, since the NIV is written in plain language, it's very easy to follow.

So I really, really did myself a disservice by doing the King James for this podcast.

I mean, I've said it before. The rationale was everyone said, you know, like Dawkins

...
