1:00.8 | Yeah, so I'm the executive director at a campaigning organization called Debt Justice. We campaign in |
1:06.9 | solidarity with activists and campaigners from the global south in order to amplify their |
1:11.6 | demands and their campaigns against unjust debt. So we used to be called a Jubilee debt campaign |
1:16.9 | and that we were set up in the 1990s to coordinate the UK branch of a global debt cancellation campaign |
1:26.2 | called Jubilee 2000. But we're still around now and we are |
1:30.8 | in addition to doing work on global south we also now work on household debt in the UK as well |
1:36.6 | so we use a community organizing approach for that to build collective power with people with |
1:42.3 | lived experience of debt in order to lead and win campaigns on the debt issues that affect them. |
1:47.0 | For me personally, I've been an economic justice campaigner for around two decades. |
1:53.0 | I've worked on a range of issues such as global health and access to medicines. |
1:58.0 | I've worked on food and agriculture, trade, financial markets regulation, |
2:02.6 | and now I'm working on sovereign debt. So I guess for me, the main theme that kind of runs across |
