My guest, Lisa O'Brien, is a native and resident of New Orleans.

A graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Lisa has worked as a civil litigation paralegal on both the defense and plaintiff's side.

You would be hard-pressed to find a more thorough researcher than Lisa,

and her encyclopedic knowledge of the Rodney Reed case is second to none. She has recently been featured talking about Stacey Stice's convicted rapist and murderer Rodney Reed on ABC's 2020 episode,

Stacey Stites, The Girl in the Pines. And that is the subject of today's episode. Welcome, Lisa O'Brien.

Thank you, Roberta. Hope you had a happy holiday. Thank you. You too. So how did you come to be

involved in the 2020 episode? If I remember correctly, when Carol Stites, Deborah Oliver,

and Crystal Huffley were interviewed by 2020, the producers asked him if there was anybody else

who knew anything about the case,

and they gave the producer my name.

I also spoke to producers.

Initially, Vivian had been contacted by producers

and sort of wanted me to bet whether or not they were legitimate

and whether or not they were interested in

telling Reed's side of the story or whether they were interested in an unbiased approach.

And the producer I ultimately worked with on the show was not the same one I initially spoke to.

Do you know why there was a change?

No, I have no idea.

And I didn't inquire.
