Hi, I'm Dave. I want to tell you about a walk I took the other day, a walk that I loved,

a walk that I think is going to be memorable and is a walk that's going to make me smile for some time to come.

So I got a text from a friend named Don who wanted to talk about our move from Maryland to South

Carolina, which was almost five years ago. He and his wife are in the process of making a big move,

and he had some questions, and so wanted to talk about what we did, and I thought,

that's awesome. So I quickly responded. I said, would love to talk. We set a time,

which was a couple hours from when I got the text,

and it was a conversation that I was really looking forward to. Now, Don is my oldest friend,

and I don't mean that he's so much older than me, but in terms of the decades of friendship. I remember meeting Don when I was probably in kindergarten.

We lived maybe a mile from each other.

We had similar interest.

In fact, I credit Don with my career in radio because Don had discovered a disc jockey in Baltimore,

a morning disc jockey in Baltimore, got me listening to him, and that morning disc jockey

sparked this interest in me to become a morning DJ.

In fact, we both were such big fans of this DJ that there was one Friday night.

He was making an appearance at an appliance store near where we lived.

And I think it was his dad who drove us to the appliance store.

And the DJ was selling a book that he had written.

It was actually a comedy book based on comedy that he did on his morning radio show.

And we bought the book.

The DJ signed it. And I still have that book. And so does Don. Don and I
