I am Karen Hunter and in this space, I'm committed to making sure that everyone who is listening has some tools, some tools and weapons to navigate these current times and beyond, because I imagine

maybe 10 years from now somebody's going to pop in and say, what is this about? Well, up next,

I'm going to be giving you some helpful tools to navigate racism. But here's the thing. You know,

I'm never really talking about the thing. The thing is just an entry point to talk

about a larger thing. And in this case, this is about how we navigate this thing called life

with power, with dignity, with purpose, and understand that the thing, whether it's racism,

whether it's misogyny, whether it's feeling insecure about certain things, whether

it's the own voice, our own internal voices telling us the things we shouldn't do or that we

can't do, whether it's a lack of having good relationships, whether it's the relationship with

our parents and feeling some way as a child or with parents and oppression in that way.

There are ways in which that we can empower ourselves to live the kind of life that we deserve. And this is the other thing. I want

all of us, because it starts there, I want all of us to recognize that you do deserve

to have the best version of yourself, the best kind of life that you want to live,

you deserve that. But it also requires something of you. Things aren't just going to happen

because you wish them to happen. You have to make them happen. And so in this guide to

combating racism, and these times are very strange that we're in.

And it's wild to me how these universal messages will always ring true, like early to bed,

early to rise, makes a person healthy, wealthy, and wise, you know, those kind of messages

because they're universal truths that will carry throughout eternity because truth is truth, right?

So up next is kind of your boot camp, your helpful handy guide to all isms, but particularly race, racism.
