I'm your host, Cory Muscara, and in today's episode we're going to talk about a practice

that can help you cultivate more empathy and compassion.

Or to come on that in a moment, first, let's settle in together with the sound of the

So as human beings, we live among others that is both our great joy and our great

curse.

It can be hard at times.

And one of the things we do get to feel is empathy and compassion for others.

But we can also feel resentment and disconnection and loneliness and anger and frustration.

And often when we're caught in those negative emotions, it can be because we've lost sight

of our similarities, some of the things that do connect us as humans.

So there's an exercise that is somewhat popular in the mindfulness space.

It's called just like me.

And typically if you were to do this with a person, you would sit in front of them and

you would look at them.

And someone would recite phrases that you would repeat in your own mind about this person.

And the phrase is designed to help you connect to your sense of connection with this person.
