| 0:09.1 | today's New Year's Day meditation. This is a way for you to launch into a brand new year, |
| 0:19.1 | or you can do this meditation as you begin any journey. I recommend |
| 0:25.5 | you gather around you four candles, maybe votive candles, something that is fire safe and you |
| 0:36.0 | might even have a pitcher of water in case it's windy and you're doing this |
| 0:41.6 | outdoors like I am today and you just want to make sure to always be careful with fire and have |
| 0:50.2 | a journal with you or you could have two strips of paper. Now you don't necessarily need |
| 0:58.8 | candles if maybe you're somewhere where it's just not a good idea to have candles but have |
| 1:07.4 | something that represents meaning to you. |
| 1:12.6 | Of course, candles bring in light to your life. |
| 1:16.6 | And so they represent bringing light and life into your new year. |
| 1:22.6 | But you could use four rocks because that could represent grounding you. I might use four shells |
| 1:30.3 | because it is a little windy today and my candles might be blown out and shells are special to me |
| 1:39.7 | because I collect them on the beach. So use what has meaning to you. |
| 1:46.8 | You may pause this recording and go and gather those materials. |
| 1:54.6 | Now that you are back, I always encourage you to do a New Year's Day celebration outside. |
| 2:00.9 | And if this is not possible, at least open up a window and bring in the outdoors wherever |
| 2:07.6 | you are. |
| 2:10.2 | And so we begin this New Year's Day celebration. |
| 2:15.0 | To start, I encourage you to stand up. |
| 2:20.3 | And as you stand up, I encourage you to ground your feet. |
