2024 campaign trail today. A new name in politics you may not have heard of before,

Nicole Shanahan. And you probably haven't heard this name because this morning she wasn't a politician.

But by this afternoon, she now has entered officially the realm of politics.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced her as his running mate as part of his independent bid for the White House on Tuesday.

And they made this announcement in Oakland, California,

in Nicole's hometown. So here's a little bit about her. She's 38 years old. She describes

herself as half Chinese and half Caucasian. She was born to an immigrant mother from China.

Her father, she describes as having a series of troubles, including addiction and mental illness.

And despite some of these obstacles, she would go on to graduate from law school and rise to

become one of the most prominent lawyers in Silicon Valley. She married the co-founder of Google, Sergey Brin.

They recently divorced, but they have a daughter together.

And her young daughter has an autism diagnosis,

which she attributes to several factors,

including toxins in the environment.

According to publicly available data that's been reported on by

a series of different news outlets, she has contributed to campaigns before, including President

Biden's, but she's also donated millions of dollars to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s campaign, as well as
