Hey, Ax here we are after a very tough week.

The president being at his worst, which is saying something it is a grim time for all of us.

More than a country on fire is a country in heartache over what we have seen.

The murder of George Floyd in such gruesome detail on video has shocked the conscience of

the nation, probably not shocked, but not shocked people in communities of color who have

experienced these things on way too regular basis.

But we are a hurting country right now.

And I know Robert Gibbs is someone who appreciates that moment having worked on these kinds of

issues.

Robert Gibbs, when you and I were in the White House, we saw some difficult times.

But I don't remember any quite as painful as this.

This week has opened up, reopened, I should say, some extraordinarily raw wounds.

And it is a tumultuous time in our country's history.

The other thing that's on my mind is how presidential campaigns work.

And I know there's much more, there are way to your issues here.

Back in January and February people were saying, well, is this race going to be determined

by the impeachment?

And in the spring, is it going to be determined by the coronavirus and the economic downturn

as a result?

It still may be the case, by the way.

But I said back then that the impeachment was going to be way in the rear view mirror
