We had a great opportunity to take part in an important conference on civil military affairs.

This conference was hosted by the Strategic Studies Shop over at Johns Hopkins-Sice.

We reported this episode in front of a live audience with a stellar group of panelists including

Mara Carlin, Paula Thornhill, the director and

associate director of Strategic Studies over at Zeiss, as well as Lauren to Jean Schulman of

CNAIS in Bomshell and Nora Bentohel also of also obsessed strategic studies in one of the unstoppable forces

behind the strategic outpost,

Boy, did I say the word strategic, a lot in this introduction.

Anyway, enjoy the show. I'm blessed to have this group of people I admire,

people I've podcasted with, people I've worked with, people I've edited, and we're just going to sort of have a

free-flowing conversation and let's just get started.

So we are now almost all the

first term or first and last term.

The field, I think more than any other sort of

sub field of international security, studying national security,

whatever you want to call it.

The field that's been sort of shaken and in some ways challenged and frustrated the most has

been the field of civil military relations.
