We're going to be getting our minds aligned with the truth of God's word in 2 Peter chapter 1, specifically in verse number 9. So join

As we dig into 2 Peter 1, verse number 9, I want to ask you to pray with me.

Now, God, we are encouraged.

We are desirous of seeing your word clearly and applying it rightly to our lives, Lord.

So help us to hear your Spirit's voice as we endeavor to

understand. And Lord, help me to teach with humility and with truthfulness of speech and with accuracy

and application. Help me, Lord. I need your help. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. Okay. Now, our context in in 2 Peter chapter 1 is that Peter has told us that God has given us

everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Jesus.

And he says he's done that by his divine power. So this is a gift that is God-sized.

And he says, because of that, we should be making every effort to supplement our faith with a list of character traits. And in the previous

verses, verses 5, 6, 7, 8, he gives us that list. And now in verse 9, he's going to make a comment

about that list. He says, for whoever lacks these qualities is so near-sided that he is blind,

having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.
