Welcome to Let it be easy with Susie Moore. I want to share a little story today that's proof that the reticular activating system in the brain works.

This surprised me actually yesterday morning.

So the reticular activating system in the brain... Actually, yesterday morning.

So the reticular activating system in the brain, what it basically does is it shows you whatever it is that you're thinking about.

So just say you want to get a certain haircut, you'll notice

women everywhere with that haircut, or if you wanted to get a new type of car, or if you wanted to purchase

a new pair of workout pants, you'll just start noticing them. To me this is really a

fundamental when it comes to the law of attraction. Whatever it is that we're thinking about, we're going to be attracting more of, right?

And so the RAS, or a particular activating system, is used a lot, right?

We speak about this a lot in coaching, like what are you thinking about?

What are you thinking about? Because you're going to start noticing more of what you're thinking.

So this is why gratitude journals are so popular.

It's why we love to list reasons we have to appreciate our life today

so that we wire our brain to look for more and more things to appreciate,

right, more and more things to have this feeling of gratitude towards.

And look, I of course know this and I train my brain, don't you worry, probably just like

And this funny little thing happened yesterday which felt like a bit of a wink towards this as a reminder of, oh, be careful, notice what it is you're putting in your brain.
