Everyone loves a good story and a good storyteller.

But there is no storyteller like the Lord Jesus,

and there are no greater stories told than the ones Jesus shared.

In this study, spiritual stories, we consider the parables Jesus told and their

application to us. These are truly the greatest stories ever told, and the Lord has something

he wants to say to you through them. Let's join Scott Pauley now.

My dad was in business for many years, and I must tell you that growing up around a business,

at least as a very young boy, there are great life lessons to be learned from business.

And sometimes you learn what to do, sometimes you learn what not to do.

Today, we're coming in Jesus' parables to a lesson from a shrewd businessman.

Jesus tells actually two stories in Luke chapter 16 about rich men.

One is a very familiar story.

The rich man in Lazarus will come to that shortly.

But just prior to that, he tells another story about a rich man.

Luke 16, verse 1 begins this way.

And he said also unto his disciples.

Now, this is very important because the end means that the story we're about to hear is connected to the stories we have just studied.

So you'll remember Luke chapter 15 of the story of the lost, the lost coin and sheep and

sons and the heart of God to seek sinners.

And so there's a connection here, but there's a little different

direction here because now this particular story is told, perhaps in the hearing of others,

but specifically to the disciples. So every believer needs to hear this story, Jesus speaks.
