We all need to be reminded of these things from time to time. The first rule is simple. You are not your own. The Heidelberg

Catechism, written in 1563, beautifully captures the heart behind this rule. It asks,

what is your only comfort in life and in death, then answers that I am not my own, but belong, body and soul in life and in death to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.
