0:29.4	Well, it is so great to be with you, and I want to welcome you to Next Gen Weekend here at Saddleback at all of our campuses and at all of our extensions.
0:34.0	We are celebrating and honoring this beautiful work that God is doing in our students and in our kids.
0:41.6	And this is such an important weekend for Andy and I.
0:45.1	We believe in this ministry so much to our future generations.
0:51.4	And so some of you, though, you might be like, next gen weekend, why do they get a
0:55.2	whole weekend? Like, I'm a median age adult. Why don't I get a weekend? Like, I feel a little left
1:01.2	out here, right? Why don't we have a singles weekend? Why next gen weekend? So I just want to give
1:08.3	you a couple of reasons why we believe that reaching the next generation
1:13.2	is core to who we are and to the mission of our church.
1:18.1	And the first reason is that it's a biblical mandate that God has given us, that we are to be
1:24.3	about passing along the faith from one generation to the next generation.
1:30.1	And so if we're not doing that, if we're not accomplishing that, then we're really falling
1:34.4	short on the mission that God has given us.
1:37.4	Let's look at this verse in the book of Psalms, chapter 78.
1:42.5	And it talks about this.
1:43.4	It says, we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy
1:46.7	deeds of the Lord his power and the wonders he's done so the next so this next generation would
1:53.9	know them even the children yet to be born so think about that it's not just this next
2:00.3	generation that's coming up right now.
