So recently I painted our garage, the inside of our garage.

We've lived in the house now two and a half years and the garage has not been painted.

When they built the house, they put drywall in the garage, they put the spackle or the mud, whatever you want to call it.

They had that in there.

They sanded it down.

It was all ready to be painted.

But the previous owners didn't paint it.

The builders didn't paint it.

We moved in, and for two and a half years, we didn't paint it.

And finally, in a process of reorganized, We moved in and for two and a half years we didn't paint it.

And finally, in a process of reorganizing the garage and making that a space that's more efficient for how we are using it, Ava and I decided, let's paint the garage.

And I decided, well, you know what?

I've painted stuff before.

I've painted rooms. I did an awful lot of painting to the house in Maryland before we sold it.

I'm like a painting fool. I know how to do this. Plus, the drywall was ready. It was spackled. It was

sanded.

All we needed to do was choose the color, go to loz by the paint, the rollers, the pans,

the drop cloths, and get to work.

And so that's what I did.

And day one was not good. I started with the ceiling.

Start high, work your way down. And it's been a minute since I've painted anything. And the low point

was when I spilled after I had poured more paint into the paint tray, and then I spilled
