Robert Barr was a Scottish-Canadian English novelist and short story author who also published under the pen name Luke Smart. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and

emigrated to Canada with his parents in 1853 when he was four years old.

In today's story, A Deal Unchange, a wealthy businessman who has a beautiful daughter-in-law upon whom he dotes is getting very

tired of her not being socially accepted and being the kind of man who is usually

able to figure things out and solve them he finds a unique way to get to the bottom of the problem and solve the

The darkness enabled the half-blinded visitor coming in out of the bright light

to knock over gracefully a $200 vase that had come from Japan to meet

disaster in New York.

In a corner of the room was seated in a deep and luxurious armchair, a most beautiful woman.

Her husband was devotedly fond of her.
