Summary
Orpheus and Eurydice is an old Greek tale retold by V.C. Turnbull which recalls the story of a gifted jmusician named Orpheus whose beautiful young wife Eurydice is killed by a viper. Orpheus descends into hell with his lyre to beg Pluto, the god of the underworld, to release her to earth again.
The second story is another old tale of a ships crew who are ordered to stand fast against adversity in order that they all might survive.
