Summary

What if a ghost just needed someone to ask what was wrong? In this chilling episode from eastern North Carolina, a young couple moves into a modest home where a woman had once died—someone the family even knew. Soon, unexplained footsteps, slamming doors, and the feeling of being watched become part of daily life. When a hurricane lamp appears in pieces—but completely undamaged—the fear intensifies. But after one eerie weekend, every photo in the home ends up mysteriously placed on the floor or bed. The haunting finally ends… after a conversation with the dead. Could a ghost really be listening?

Hi there. My name's Hannah. I'm from a little town in eastern North Carolina. I was calling

0:35.9

up to share a story about one of the first houses that I

0:41.8

lived in when I was like an infant, basically. These are all stories that my parents have told me,

0:48.7

except for one. So anyways, they moved into this house. I was probably less than six months old.

0:58.4

I don't really know for sure. But, um, anyway, they had, uh, they did a little bit of renovations,

1:07.9

but not really a whole lot. And it was kind of weird because the lady that had passed away there before they moved

1:15.8

in, like my grandmother knew them.

1:18.0

So they kind of knew somebody had passed away, but they were like, it's fine.

1:22.2

It'll be fine.

1:23.6

So they had moved in, and my mom told me that there were several times that she would like hear footsteps coming down the hallway and she would be asleep but she would also hear them and then it would just feel like somebody was just staring at her at the foot of the bed.

1:43.1

And then she'd wake up and she'd look and, of course, no one would be there.

1:47.4

And then she'd also hear footsteps going back down the hallway and hear like a door slam

1:52.9

shut.

1:53.4

And so, of course, they'd go check and nobody would be there and everything was fine.

1:59.6

Apparently, this older woman that was there, she used to slam doors all the time throughout the house.

2:08.6

And me being an infant, too, like, my mom has always kind of wondered, like, some of the times that I would wake up randomly in the

2:18.5

middle of the night, like, was I experiencing the same thing of, like, the old woman, like,

2:24.7

staring at me, or was it, you know, just a normal infant having an issue and needing to wake

2:31.2

up and cry, I kind of think.
