Go to amenpodcast.com to learn more. We're talking about catechism. You know what catechism is? A catechism is a collection of questions and answers designed for memorization and recitation to teach others the core

doctrines of our faith. This is the new city catechism and a catechism is so important. It's a lost

art. The lost practice of catechises in the church today is a tragedy because if you really

want to go deeper in your faith, if you want to know who you are as a Christian, who God is because if you really want to go deeper in your faith,

if you want to know who you are as a Christian, who God is, if you really want to have strong

doctrine, you need catechism. And I was sitting in my prayer closet and I was, I was sitting there,

I was praying and I got done praying. The kids are, you know, it's like six in the morning. The

kids are all loud and it's hard to focus. But I just had this burden on me of like, okay, God, what is this

a year supposed to look like? What am I supposed to do on this channel on the house church podcast,

on Amen podcast? How do I balance all of these things? And it's very worked into the fabric of our

life. So it doesn't feel like it's a lot of burden,

of responsibility of work that I have to do. It's just that I want to do it well. And so just

feeling burdened by that. And I look over and I see this book, which my wife bought a long,

long time ago. We've started it as a family. We've stopped it as a family. And it's just been

collecting dust. And it's published by Crossway. It's put out there into the world by the

gospel coalition. And Tim Keller, my favorite preacher, my favorite pastor, him and his wife

do some introductions in the beginning. If you have this one, his wife, Kathy Keller, did the

introduction of this one. If you have the app, which is what you're looking at on the screen,

he does the introduction on that one. And so I read it and I open it up and I see like just the

importance of doing catechism. And I thought, man, I feel like the people on the Alex Wilson podcast would love this
